Teknikens Hus works with schools and pre-schools, complementing school education and inspiring teachers and pupils to experiment with science and technology.

A special classroom
Teknikens Hus has become a very popular place for schools to visit and for teachers to use as a very special classroom. Schools from all over northern Sweden go to Teknikens Hus.

Teknikens Hus offers special programs for school groups and children from the age of six. Teachers can pick any subject from a range of demonstrations, experiments, and lectures about technology connected to the permanent or temporary exhibits. A scheduled visit will last for at least two hours, including experiments or a demonstration. School programs for schools in the region are free of charge, due to the funding provided by the regional communities. Schools from outside the region pay a small fee.

Contact any of the educators to find out more about school programs.

Teacher networks
Building teacher networks is an efficient way to create strong and long lasting relations with schools.

Through the networks, the science centre provides
support and guidance for teachers in science teaching; planning visits to the centre, giving in-service training, planning out-reach activities and lending materials to the schools. Teknikens Hus is a central coordinator together with contact teachers in eight communities in the region. Together we form the content and needs for science and technology education.

The evaluations show great impact for participating schools.
